I'm Late, I'm Late for a Very Important Date...

A Happy New Year, as they say here. Which one, last year or this one? I'm not entirely sure and, I surmise, neither are they.

I have returned to Japan, the product of a failed media experiment in China. This should have been foreseen but I am Pollyanna when it comes to these things sometimes. I believe people when I shouldn't and I distrust yhem when I shouldn't. But it usually all turns out for the best.

Like this time. If I hadn't quit Nova to go to China, I wouldn't have been able to start seeing Yasumi... I wouldn't have asked her to marry me and we wouldn't have gotten married. I guess I have China to thank for that. At least, not Nova.

Here we are in the new year. Plans 'o' plenty. Jan 31, we will wing our way to Disney World for a few days and then to my hometown and then to New Orleans for some Mardi Gras action. After returning, the school will become a reality. And somewhere in there, I'm trying to find time to write again as well as pick up some more badly-needed business knowledge.

I know what you're thinking. Updating news and telling you what's been going on and what's coming up is boring. That's true -- but you have to remember that if you're going from A to Z, you have to have all the other letters in between, too. You never know when something may be very important.

As Egg Shen says at the beginning of Big Trouble in Little China, "That's how it always starts... very small."
