Version 1.2

Ah, the sight of sakura in the spring. Nothing I really am dying to see but it hits the spot for a lot of folks here.

Early April is important in Japan for a number of reasons: the beginning of the business year, the beginning of the school year and... drum roll, please... the opening of my school.

Yes, my school. Something I have been considering for several years now has finally become a reality. It's small, cozy, just a bit too cold at this time of year... but most importantly, it is the beginning of a vision hatched a year ago that will be true to the students/customers/clients who want to use my (and in the near future, "our") services.

It's an opportunity for me to be able to stretch my wings and only have myself to blame for making a bad decision, unlike grumbling about the boss as I've had to do for so many years.

It's an opportunity for people in the area to have a decent alternative to the cookie-cutter nature of the larger "schools" that push progress and deliver the desire to keep people shoveling their money over to them. This is not that kind of place.

As we go along, I intend to present here my observations of business and such like regarding running a "school" -- though I don't really believe that word fits what I'm trying to do. It's more like a sanctuary for people who want more and meatier ways to communicate. And it's a place where they can sit down and be comfortable, while eating and drinking what they like at the same time!

It is Storyville and everybody has a story to tell.

Its time has come.
