I hate it when I have a plan for a blog entry and it goes pear-shaped
You know, I was thinking about writing a blog about hyperbole and expectations (slightly different from the last time) but then I thought about it some more and I said, well, maybe I shouldn't bother. I should just post the link to the story that made me start thinking about the topic and my letter to the editor of the Japan Times. I checked the online version each Thursday and Sunday since I submitted it, only to be completely disappointed.
Then I thought I would post my letter to the editor here. That's what this blog is for, right? Yeah, well, maybe not. The more I think about it, and the longer the time since, it seems like it's not quite so interesting. Supposing that, there should be a little consideration about appropriateness. (Which some one or other may say it's the pot calling the kettle some obscene name but there it is.)
Instead, let me point you to a website with a worthwhile discussion about one of my more favorite movies: Dames.

You have to join to post but it's free. This is one of the better discussions/series they've had on there. That's probably because I've involved myself in it.
Enjoy!

Aw, poo! I had a great title earlier today and now it slipped my mind!
Sorry to be away for so long but much has happened since last we spoke. In no particular order:
So she is officially official! (Cue the cheering crowd!)
However, before we leave, there is much to do -- shipping, packing, meeting, saying goodbye-ing, teaching, and a bunch of other -ings I'm probably deliberately ignoring.
Two other important things I want to mention today are that
1) My wife says that usually my blog posts tend to be more philosophical than chronological. I agree. Simple chronologies don't usually work for me because my mind doesn't connect the dots that way. I prefer to intuit and arrive at my destination eventually, most especially in blogs.
and
2) Thanks, Saeko! You are the first person to write a comment on this blog in the nearly 3 years it's been around. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
At this time, that is all.
- We have accomplished maybe 50% of our overall packing to move.
- We made the final payment for our tickets to the US in July.
- We went to Okinawa this past week, Kagoshima on the weekend and today, got the immigration visa paperwork for Yasumi!
So she is officially official! (Cue the cheering crowd!)
